T New MusicBox Website launches this month Audiosocket providing music to AP ORONTO — Ole MusicBox and Ole Clear Web- sites will be replaced this month by a new client site,, offering updated search, fulfillment and e-commerce capabilities. Ole focuses on acquisitions, creative development and worldwide copyright administration, and recently entered the produc- tion music space with operations in the US with MusicBox and Canada with Clear. The Ole catalog includes over 45,000 songs and 40,000 hours of TV music across all genres. Ross Hardy, Ole's Ole's Ross Hardy. manager of production, whose team has been charged with making the updated site a real- ity, says the new MusicBox Website, "brings a flexible environment to clients, including universal platform (PC, Mac, mobile) touch-screen capability, drag-and-drop playlists, projects and cue sheets where all track information follows without additional client effort. All audio formats are available with format conver- sion on the fly. Project and search result sharing with collaboration for associates or clients is also bundled and can be transferred via e-mail with live links that eliminate bulky files that choke up inboxes. All of this happens in an environment that learns about client preferences for the next time. Fulfillment in the digital environment was a big goal for Ole, and while intelligent hard-drive delivery is still possible for clients working in offline environments, cloud delivery and automated delivery is now available up to and including virtual hard drives. Clients that need to work on and complete proj- ects at odd hours and who are not on a blanket can auto-license and pay for tracks using secure e-com- merce technology powered by a major bank that automatically delivers files, licenses and invoicing. "We have a concierge attitude about client service at MusicBox and that's only going to get better given that clients can now click through Skype from their desktop and within a search to get expert assistance from the people who know the library best," says Hardy. Ole MusicBox CEO Robert Ott confirms that there's been a lot of internal debate about how to balance access and security. "Clients can explore the library without to the need for downloading full-qual- ity files. We're also incorporating various fingerprinting technologies so we can search, after the fact, for usage and this is good news for our sub-publishing clients because we are aggressive about full collections for our composers and our sub-publishing clients. We've tried to strike a balance we think meets both needs." The new site went live on August 1 for select cli- ents, and will likely offer full access in September. S EATTLE — The Associated Press is now using Audiosocket's ( MaaS (music as a service) product suite as the backbone of their global media offering. MasS provides a copyright-compliant music solution that serves as a building block for content creation sites (such as Vimeo and AP), film, mobile app developers and gaming properties. For artists, it's a resource that can help them get their music in front of produc- ers and content creators on a global level. AP customers will now have access to Audio- socket's curated collection of premium, culturally relevant music through AP Images, AP's photo licensing unit. A dedicated AP page on Audio- socket's Website will allow them to access, license and download music. Max frets: the network just changed music direction, deadline for next cut got pushed up, his bins are a mess, and the asst. editor just quit. ...LOOKS LIKE I'M PULLING AN ALL-NIGHTER HOME EARLY?
