www.postmagazine.com March 2010 • Post 35 Songs To Your Eyes sees growth W OODLAND HILLS, CA — Songs To Your Eyes (www.songstoy- oureyes.com) recently hit the 20,000 cues milestone, and re- ports that the company's sales were up 45 percent in 2009.The company, and its founder Opher Yisraeli, also recently launched a new Latin Music division. Its first release is titled Caliente Music and is comprised of au- thentic tracks from the salsa, Cuban, Reggaeton, Latin, hip-hop, cocktail Latin jazz, merengue, Latin pop and Rock en Espainol genres. All of the tracks feature live musicians, who bring influences from Puer to Rico, Cuba, Miami and the Dominican Republic. One of the first uses of a Caliente Music library track was for the pro- motional trailer for Our Family Wedding, starring America Ferrera, Carlos Mencia and Forest Whitaker.The film will be released by Fox Search- light Pictures. Songs To Your Eyes represents over 250 com- posers, producers and recording artists.The com- pany releases an estimated 50 to 60 new titles each year. For clients Lionsgate and Relativity Media, Songs To Your Eyes placed an energetic, electro/rock cue from its Absolute Music Library catalog within the theatrical trailer promoting the Jackie Chan feature The Spy Next Door. Four music cues and sound design pieces were licensed for use in the pro- motional trailer for the upcoming IMAX feature Hubble 3D, scheduled for re- lease this spring. And on the television front, tracks from composers the company repre- sents have been used recently in Californication, Burn Notice, Eastwick and Disney File. 'Dark Void' sees commercial release N EW YORK — Sumthing Else Music Works, which licenses and dis- tributes videogame soundtracks, has released the "Dark Void Origi- nal Soundtrack" through a licensing relationship with Capcom. Dark Void is a new sci-fi action-adventure game that combines aerial and on-the-ground combat, set in a parallel universe called The Void. Capcom re- leased Dark Void on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PCs back in January. The soundtrack features the original orchestral score composed by Bear McCrear y. McCrear y is the composer of popular sci-fi TV series Battlestar Galactica, but this project marks his first for a videogame. The score was recorded at the Warner Bros. Eastwood Scoring Stage and 80 minutes of score, hand-picked by McCreary, is delivered in the commercial release. Also included is the bonus track, "Theme from Dark Void (Mega Ver- sion)," an 8-bit rendering of the main theme, produced by McCreary for Cap- com's downloadable DSiWare title, Dark Void Zero. The score is available through Sumthing Else Music Works (www.sumthing.com), and is also available for digital download at Sumthing Digital (www.sumthingdigital.com). Founder Opher Yisraeli Final Cut plug-in simplifies licensing M ARLBOROUGH, MA — Boris FX has released a Final Cut Pro plug-in for MyMusicSource, a music licensing company for music super visors, film companies, TV production companies and other users of commercial music. The free plug-in allows users to launch MyMusicSource directly within Final Cut Pro and then find, license and download music. Tracks automatically appear in a Final Cut Pro bin; music pricing starts as low as $5. Both instrumental and vocal tracks are available. "We believe the ability to license pre-cleared music and quickly integrate [it] di- rectly into video and audio editors' workflows will be a real time-saver," notes Michael Redman, president of MyMusicSource. The music licensing plug-in is available for free as a download from the Boris FX Website (www.borisfx.com).
