Tricky Answer Advice One of the most common questions our BevForce Career Concierge team hears when helping prospective candidates to prepare for an interview is: "How do I answer: 'Why do you want to leave your current company?'" Whether or not the interviewer realizes it, he or she is really asking, "Why do you want to leave where you are right now to come join me?" There's no reason to stumble; be truthful about why you want to leave your current job (everyone has their reasons), but the key is to keep your explanation positive and brief (and remember: Never badmouth your current employer or employees. That never ends well). Afterward, turn the focus of the conversation toward why you want to join this new com- pany, providing specific reasons. A future-focused conversation allows you to highlight why you are a fit for the role and how you can be an asset to their team. Onward and upward! Feeling motivated?
