people AMANDA LARIVIERE Toronto's Township & Company has added executive producer Amanda Lariviere to its staff. She spent the last nine years at Toronto's School Editing, where she had started as an assis- tant editor and worked her way up to online/ VFX producer, and eventually executive producer. Before starting at Township, she mainly worked on commercials, including The ERA Chuck Norris spots that are running in Canada now and several Bud Light spots. Lariviere is a graduate of Hum- ber College for Film and Television. LARIVIERE ALEX LANG Alex Lang has joined Hollywood creative agency Play Creative TV as executive pro- ducer/creative director. Prior to joining Play, Lang was VP of creative at the cable network, G4. In that role, he oversaw all network brand- ing and promotion, interstitial programming, on-air graphics, print and digital marketing. Pre- vious positions include creative director, on-air promotion at ABC. Lang began his marketing and promotion career as a writer/producer at The WB Network. He holds an MFA in Poetry from Antioch University and a BA from USC. LANG LIZ OLIVER London's Framestore has strengthened its CG department with the addition of Liz Oliver, a CG line producer with extensive experience in multiplatform disciplines. As a producer, Oliver has worked in VFX, commercials, radio, print and digital. She joins Framestore from her most recent position as a producer at boutique ani- mation and retouch studio Taylor James. Previ- ously, she worked in-house and as a freelancer for companies like Munky, Hooper Productions, Flaming CGI and DAD. Oliver started her career in 2001 as an agency producer. OLIVER GARY C. BOURGEOIS Re-recording mixer Gary C. Bourgeois has rejoined Todd-AO after working as an inde- pendent. He had been on staff at the studio from 1985 to 2001. Bourgeois recently mixed the films The Raven and 50/50. His career began in 1969 mixing docs, including the The Man Who Skied Down Everest for Canadian producer Crawley Films. He began mixing in Hollywood in 1976 and since then has more than 200 fea- ture film credits, including such classics as Pleas- antville and both Charlie's Angels movies. A 25-year industry vet, Nelson has worked in production on spots, TV programs and multimedia content. Prior to joining SFI, he was line producing for director Greg Ramsey on tabletop productions and VFX/ greenscreen shoots out of Curious Pictures. He had also been working as a DGA first AD. Nel- son attended NYU's Graduate School of the Arts, and holds a BA from the University of Maryland's Department of Radio, Television and Film. NELSON CHRISTIAN LYNGBYE After collaborating on a Gillette campaign with Olympic athletes, Decon and has added three- time Cannes Gold award-winning director Christian Lyngbye to its roster. LARRY BIRSTOCK Larry Birstock has been named GM of Uni- versal Studios Digital Services, the on-lot picture post group in Universal City. In this newly-created position, Birstock will oversee the facility's operations, administration and sales activities. His career includes senior exec- utive positions at post companies such as Post Logic, Technicolor and Deluxe. In these roles, he has been responsible for growing estab- lished post studios and launching new compa- nies in the US, UK and India. NICOLE STONE Nicole Stone has been promoted to account executive at Detroit's Speedshape. Formerly a producer at the hybrid CGI, interactive, design and 3D studio, she brings four years of hands-on experience in post to her new role. Stone joined Speedshape in 2008, and since coming onboard has produced many broadcast, digital, CG and social media campaigns for the company's LA, Detroit and London divisions, including projects for brands such as GE, Ford and Jack Daniels. She is a graduate of Columbia College.
