Written for both startup and established business owners who didn't grasp the internet marketing concept yet, the book is a step- by-step manual that teaches readers how to gain exposure for their business. From how to create a website, how to manage the content, and how to optimize it for search engines to social media do's and don'ts, the book covers all aspects of internet marketing including advertising, campaigns, and trends in online behaviour. Each chapter finishes with links to further reading should one need to go deeper into the knowledge discussed in that chapter. The book finishes with information about the author where we learn that Yung is an expert in this field, his business offering marketing solutions and web design and development for various businesses. A Comprehensive Step-By-Step Guide to Internet Marketing by Ryan Yung is exactly what any business owner and freelancer needs in order to gain exposure on the internet and establish their business among competitors. Easy to read and understand, the book equips anyone who reads it with the necessary tools to succeed in their marketing strategies and campaigns. The vocabulary is simple and easy to understand, the chapters are well organized knowledge-wise, and the information is easy to comprehend and process. After each chapter you can go ahead and apply the knowledge straight away to your own business so you can learn while you read. 3. BLOGGING FOR SMARTIES by Yvonne Wu Reviewed by Brenda Ballard for Readers' Favorite Writing a blog or podcast or even starting your own website might be more than a little enamoring to some. With all the technology out there, some of us still need to be held by the hand and guided through the steps. This Is The Book! Author Yvonne Wu takes the time to introduce Wordpress and explain what it is and isn't capable of doing. She then provides snapshots of screens as examples so that there is no misunderstanding. It doesn't stop there! Tips on the various applications are provided to enable the reader to use the program to its maximum potential. I am personally so glad to have had the chance to read this short how-to book. Researching and contemplating on a blog and website for quite a while, now, it just seemed too difficult to proceed. My mind has been changed! I feel empowered by the simplicity of it all. The language is something anyone with a little computer knowledge can understand. Suggestions provided by the author seem logical and to the point. I vow to try at least some of them! Writing a reference guide, especially one regarding websites and so on surely must be somewhat difficult but Ms. Wu makes it seem as though it were as natural as breathing. This book would be great for tutorial centers, libraries, computer labs and of course the home collection. I highly recommend Blogging for Smarties to anyone with an inkling to delve into their own cyber presence. 4. 100 MARKETING TRADE SECRETS FOR ANY BUSINESS by Gary L. Watts Reviewed by Teodora Totorean for Readers' Favorite When you have a business, no matter how big or small, and you come across a book that starts with "Marketing is not as complicated as you think–once you look behind the curtain", you can't wait to delve into its pages and learn everything you can about marketing. 100 Marketing Trade Secrets for Any Business by Gary L. Watts, an experienced marketing strategist that worked for Walt Disney World, contains the best ideas and concepts that work. From marketing research, targeting the right market and planning your strategy, to advertising and promoting, the book teaches any business owner how to tackle this field that may seem unapproachable to most of us. Once the secrets are revealed, you can "fly like an eagle" and become an accomplished entrepreneur. This book is a must-read for any existing or aspiring business owner. It is the kind of book that you can always refer to when you are stuck and you need a push to move your business forward. The language is easy to understand and each "secret" is revealed in small paragraphs, keeping the readers engaged. As a business owner myself, I challenge you to take a pen and a notebook before starting this book, think about your business while you read it, and make useful notes on how you can apply the strategies to your own business. By the end of it, you'll have a clearer idea on how to promote your business and how to reach your target mar- ket. I surely did. 5. A JOB FOR JOE by Joe Paris Lee Book Review Reviewed by Anne Marie Reynolds for Readers' Favorite A Job for Joe, by Joe Paris Lee, takes a humorous look at Joe's working life. Joe has had no less than 56 jobs in 60 years, something of a record perhaps. A Job for Joe takes us into the roller coaster ride of his attempts at a "career" or several. Hold on tight as Joe's coaster crawls its way to the top and then flings its readers into the most hair- raising journey of their lives. Far from being a slacker who cannot hold down a job, Joe juggles his way through a num- ber of different jobs, each one with its own story and each one with the same eventual outcome. Readers, be prepared to be en- tertained in a seriously big way. A Job for Joe by Joe Paris Lee, is one of the funniest and best books I have read in a long time. He is a seriously good writer, very funny and has an amazing way with words. I cannot remember ever having laughed so much at a book. This was one of those 'can't put down' books. I just wanted to see what scrapes he got into next and I wanted to see what the eventual outcome was. As well as being a humorous look at Joe's working life, it's also a lesson of sorts – well, several lessons actually. You will find yourself thinking hard in between picking yourself up off the floor from laughing. I would love to read more books from Joe, especially if they are as funny and thought- provoking as A Job for Joe.
