22 ADVOCATE | SPECIAL PRIMARY ELECTION GUIDE The Election Before the Election Did you know most winners of the General Election will already be determined on August 30, 2016? That's because voter registration is lopsided in many of Arizona's legislative and congressional districts. So, the real action happens in the election before the election, the Primary Election, which will start this week when early ballots are mailed on August 3. 2016 Election Information Visit the AEA Fund for Public Education website at for AEA's recommended candidates, election information, and more. Get on Permanent Early Voter List Avoid lines at the polls by signing up to receive an early ballot in the mail. Early ballots can be mailed in or turned in at any polling location on Election Day.
