Jim Rollston: It's been a long road and I'm glad to be at the end of the journey. It took me three tries to pass the Master Sommelier examination and each of them was a lesson in its own right. At least you didn't reset! And it is considered the hardest examination in the world. Only three of 63 passed this year, so I'd say that your performance was exemplary. I really can't thank my mentors enough. Randy Bertao, MS, Eric Entrikin, MS, and Geoff Kruth, MS, were extremely generous with their time—and wine! And there was one other guy too, but I can't remember his name . . .
