42 LIVEMAGS.NET FEBRUARY>>10 Buena Park Downtown Writer & photos>>Loreen BerLin Buena Park Downtown (BPDT), in Buena Park (corner of La Palma and Stanton avenues), includes Buena Park Mall, Buena Park Place, and Park Central Entertainment. And if you're looking for a distinctive lunch or dinner; a movie; or some game-playing fun with family, friends or business associates; it's the place to be. With six unique restaurants, there's sure to be something to please every palate. The restaurants include: Asia Buffet, Buffalo Wild Wings®, Chili's, John's Incredible Pizza, Pat & Oscars, and Portillo's. If you're looking for an afternoon of games, Howie's Game Shack has an unending supply of video-type games for individual play or group competition. John's Incredible Pizza, located in the lower level of BPDT, also offers a variety of games where participants can win prizes, enjoy the rides and a chance to meet their "Incredi-Bear" mascot, along with their food. Their expansive selection of unique pizzas includes "Peanut Butter Pizza," topped with a peanut; a wonderful selection at the salad bar, potato and pasta bars, a fine line of desserts, sodas, coffees and tea. "Buffalo Wild Wings®," located near the front Mall entrance, opened in the fall of 2009 and is the winner of many "Best Wings" and "Best Sports" bar awards. They have 47 TV screens throughout the restaurant, bar and patio areas. Buffalo Wild Wings is a must for the football season and the football fans where they can enter the Buffalo Wild Wings Challenge. Asia Buffet, which recently expanded, now provides a banquet room as well as a variety of seafood such as crab legs, shrimp, steamed fish, and raw oysters along with Korean short ribs, and hot and sour soup. Chili's Restaurant, along La Palma Avenue, offers an assortment of sandwiches, burgers, baby-back ribs, steaks, fajitas and quesadillas, among other choices. Pat & Oscar's Restaurant has outdoor seating on their patio and attire can be casual for their family-style restaurant that includes a selection of yummy, freshly-baked breadsticks, salads and pizza, along with sandwiches. Portillo's Restaurant – known for its Chicago-famed hot dogs – is always a hub for those looking for a tasty hot dog. They can seat nearly 200 people but also have a drive-through window. The beautifully-designed 1930s-style Krikorian Theatre has comfortable stadium-style seating, so every seat is good for viewing the latest movie. Presenting an assortment of films as well as a variety of movie viewing-times makes this a standout in movie theaters around Orange County. (I'm trying to fix this, but it doesn't really make since. For one the writer used movie too many times in close proximity. In addition, what she is calling "standout" is actually the norm at most theatres in orange county—it does not distinguish this particular theatre.) While waiting for the movie to begin, movie-goers may make use of the outside benches, or stroll around the area for a quick snack or shopping opportunity or just sit and relax and listen to the peaceful fountains, amidst the beautiful landscaping.
