14 LIVEMAGS.NET FEBRUARY>>10 For the spring debut in September 2009, the theme depicting fashion's intersection with travel symbolized the future move of the MBFW in 2010 to the Lincoln Center. Celebrities in attendance and front row for past fashion shows have included Jennifer Lopez at Oscar De La Renta, Madonna and Janet Jackson at Marc Jacobs, Bruce Willis at Erin Wasson x RVCA, Taylor Swift at Tommy Hilfiger and Mickey Rourke at Max Azria. The MBFW is the largest fashion week show in the world, with over 80 established and up and coming designers debuting their 2010/2011 fall and winter looks. Among them are some of the world's most renowned designers, including Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger, and Vera Wang just to name a few. Title sponsor Mercedes Benz is joined by DHL, American Express®, Maybelline New York, W Hotels Worldwide, TRESemme, The Heart Truth Campaign, Starbucks Frappuccino® Coffee Drink, Peroni, Chambord, Martini Gold Mixers and O.N.E.™ (One Natural Experience) as well as the following media outlets: the New York Times, Vevant, Women's Wear Daily and Getty Images. All sponsors are providing hospitality, services and amenities to make the event pleasurable for all attendees. IMG, owner and producer of MBFW, worked with city officials and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, led by Diane Von Furstenberg, to identify a new location resulting in the decision to move MBFW to Damrosch Park at the Lincoln Center in September. An upgrade to 87,000 sq. ft. of space from 70,000 sq. ft. will provide ample opportunities for the iconic indoor location at the Lincoln Center to be used for special events and VIP receptions during the fashion shows. Since its beginning in 2003 with approximately only 35 shows, the MBFW has grown to over 70 shows showcasing leading American and international designers. "All of us at IMG Fashion are excited about the outstanding and stellar lineup which has come together from around the world to share in this historic Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week," said Fern Mallis, Senior Vice President of IMG Fashion.
