PAI GOW POKER 8 If you've visited any of the L.A. casinos lately then you've probably walked by numerous tables with several different games trying to pick the one that's going to have you leaving the place with your pockets full of chips. Well if you've never played it before Pai Gow Poker is a fun and simple game that could do just that. Pai Gow poker is played with a 53-card deck, which is basically a standard deck that includes the joker. The joker can be used as an ace or as any card that completes a straight or flush. The game begins when the house dealer deals the cards into seven hands of seven cards. Six of the hands go to players and one hand goes to the banker. The banker will then shake the dice cup, which contains inside of it three dice, and the total on the dice determines who receives the first set of cards and where the action of the game will begin. The banker position is always 1, 8, and 15. Out of the seven cards each player receives, the player creates a two-card hand (also known as the front hand) and a five-card hand (also sometimes called the backhand). The two-card hand must rank lower than the five-card hand in order for the game to begin. The ultimate goal of the game is to make two hands that are both higher than the two hands made by the banker. Pai Gow poker uses the same ranking of hands as in other high poker games.
