When in Rome – In Theaters Have you ever wondered what happens to all those coins in a fountain? Me neither. But this film explores the question of what happens when you interrupt the superstition of the coins in a fountain. Well, according to "When in Rome's" plot, the person's coin you dig out magically falls in love with you. This means two things: try to find the fountain where Angelina Jolie has thrown a coin, and pray that someone who looks like Smiegel from "Lord of the Rings" doesn't pick up a coin you've tossed in. The film stars Kristen Bell, the lead actress in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," who picks up coins from a fountain while visiting Rome for her sister's wedding. She soon finds herself pursued by the men who threw those coins into the fountain. If you believe that love and fate are one in the same, then this is the film to take your date to. Paranormal Activity – Available on DVD The main problem with going to a movie in theaters is that it is an impediment to your romance game. The key to a romantic night is to have a good time but to be prepared to seal the deal should the mood strike you. Renting a DVD instead of attending theaters may be the most suitable for your needs. But, what makes "Paranormal Activity" the best DVD to watch for Valentine's Day is that it is absolutely horrifying. Whoever you are with will not want to sleep alone. With every creak and crack of the house, your spouse will reinforce the need that he/she needs someone to sleep next to for the night. It's an absolute genius plan if you don't also get scared beyond belief. Believe the hype. "Paranormal Activity" is the scariest film of the decade, so if you can ensure that there is still hope for some paranormal activity with a loved one, bundle up and watch this terrifying film. (500) Days of Summer – on DVD Are you dreading Valentine's Day because you don't have anyone to spend it with? Did you just get out of a long-term relationship on the eve of V-day? Well, instead of dinner for one at the Olive Garden, you can just sulk at home and watch this reflective and hopeful film that captures a devastating breakup, a time of reflection and regret, and a hope for a new beginning. "(500) Days of Summer" is about a couple that breaks up and how a young man traces the relationship back through flashbacks to see where the relationship went wrong. At the end, there is new hope that comes in a slightly different way as expected, but is fulfilling nonetheless. So instead of being depressed over the one that got away, pop this movie in, get inspired, do some pushups and get back out there. The Proposal – on DVD It's the dreaded moment in some people's life--the moment of commitment—the wedding proposal. "The Proposal" is a romantic comedy where a high rank executive is about to be deported but is saved by forcing one of her co-workers to marry her. The plot takes its typical romantic comedy turns and twists but is a great movie with two of Hollywood's greatest, Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. So if you feel that you are on the verge of the "commitment talk" then watch this film with your loved one, and then just say "Boy, I'm glad we're not like that." Have a good laugh, and then sneak out the bathroom window.
