people STACK SEAN STACK Burbank's AlphaDogs has added editor Sean Stack to a full-time position — he has been freelancing at the post facility for two years. Stack began editing 10 years ago while completing his degree in Film and Television Broadcasting. One of his first projects was working as key assistant editor on the Tom Petty film Running Down A Dream, directed by Peter Bogdanovich. His edit- ing experience includes docs, animated series and broadcast TV, and includes color correction and grading for indie features, reality shows, UCLA short films and spots. MICHAEL ZIMBARD MIKE DONOVAN After 10 years at NYC's Edit1, Michael Zim- bard is now owner/president. He joined as an editor in 2001 and then became VP/senior editor in 2005. One of his first jobs as owner was to hire Mike Donovan as executive producer. Donovan has over a decade of experience in animation production and comes to Edit1 from Launch and, most recently, Nice Shoes, where he was managing director/head of production. ZIMBARD ERIK THERWANGER Erik Therwanger joins Minneapolis's Crash & Sue's as director of business development. He has been in the post world since 1996. Ther- wanger will focus on expanding the studio's client base to the national level. He studied cinema/TV at USC after completing his tour of duty in the Marines. He began his career working as vault manager at POP in Santa Monica. He then moved to the Cinram/POP DVD Center, where he worked on audio encoding and graphics. In '03, he joined SMV Complete Media and moved up through the ranks to VP. PUGH STEVE PUGH Pixomondo has hired Steve Pugh as an executive producer to help oversee projects in its Burbank office, one of the company's 11 studios worldwide. A 20-year veteran of VFX, Pugh will be involved in streamlining the production pipeline to better accommodate the studio's roster of TV and film work. He was most recently at Eden FX, where he spent 10 years as a VFX producer. While there, he oversaw work on television series, including Lost, Fringe, Community, Person of Interest and Pan Am. He also worked on feature films, including Hellboy and Shoot 'Em Up. Previously, Griffith worked at JSM and Stimmung. He recently co-wrote, recorded and produced Lung of Love, the latest album from the Indigo Girls' Amy Ray. Griffith has been com- posing music for television and film since 2005. In his earlier career, Griffith worked as a guitar tech for recording artists, including Jane's Addic- tion and Macy Gray. He also played bass in the band Mellowdrone. GRIFFITH TOM SINNOTT STEVEN WOLKENSTEIN San Diego's Legend3D, a 2D-to-3D conver- sion company, has upped Tom Sinnott to COO. Steven Wolkenstein will take the role of CFO. Legend3D founder Dr. Barry San- drew, who had held the role of COO, continues to serve as Legend3D's president/chief creative officer/chief technology officer. Sinnott joined Legend3D in 2010 as VP/GM, and prior to that he was VP/GM of Technicolor's West Coast DI facilities. He also spent time heading up Tech- nicolor Canada's visual effects operations. Sinnott is tasked with building the infrastructure of Leg- end3D's newest division, Legend Stereo Lab. Before his current role, Wolkenstein was Leg- end3D's vice president of finance. Prior to joining the company in 2010, he was chief financial offi- cer for 3E Company. CLARK TOM CANAVAN, LISA CLARK Burlington, MA-based Signiant, makers of intel- ligent file movement software for media and entertainment, has named Tom Canavan senior VP of strategic development and Lisa Clark as VP of marketing. Most recently, Cana- van was a strategic and business consultant to the media industry. Prior to that, he was execu- tive VP of Ascent Media and president of AF Associates. He also served as group VP of VSC. Prior to joining Signiant, Clark led marketing initiatives for several digital media software companies, including Avid Technology and The FeedRoom, an online video platform (OVP) and digital asset management (DAM) software com- pany acquired by Kit Digital in 2009.
