The nation's capital will be the setting of the annual meeting of the Representative Assembly, the National Education Association's highest decision-making body. With more than 9,000 delegates (including more than 1,000 from California), the RA is the world's largest democratic deliberative body. CTA members will help set policy and chart the direction of NEA business through participation in various committees, constituencies, caucuses and leadership groups. New presidents and presidents of locals in the Community College Association arrive Monday to engage in specially tailored core sessions. Other participants join them Tuesday for electives and workshops to enhance leadership skills and understanding of issues. This year's Presidents Conference will focus on the November 2012 election.
