december 2015  /  the tasting panel  /  85 "From the Rat Pack Era to the Modern Era, Frank Sinatra was, is, and always will be, Las Vegas," pronounces Andrew Pollard, Beverage Development Specialist for Wirtz Beverage Nevada. So when he was developing the first cocktail to be listed on the menu of The Mansion at MGM Grand Las Vegas—the exclusive, high-end set of 29 villas within the resort's larger property—Pollard naturally reached for Sinatra Select to include in the "M" Manhattan. "When creating a cocktail, I believe there is beauty in simplicity," he continues. "Don't reinvent the wheel—just make it go faster." Like so many other bartend- ers in the field, ET inspired Pollard with his passion and enthusiasm for the iconic brand. Pollard recounts: "His approach not only re-engaged my philosophy of a substantial brand and story, but also, has motivated me even more to share that message even further. After all, being one of the top- selling whiskies in the world, Jack must have done something right." Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select expression adds further refinement, balance and complexity to the legendary brand, making it the perfect fit for the luxu- rious experience that is The Mansion at MGM Grand. As you sip on his "M" Manhattan, Pollard suggests pairing it with the classic Sinatra tune "Come Fly with Me"—begging you to pack up; let's fly away with Jack Daniel's and Sinatra. —E. C.
