Johnson-Reece recently announced the formation of her new company, JohnsonReece Consulting, which spe- cializes diversity, inclusion and multicultural marketing. Utilizing over 25 years of experience in finance, consumer marketing, talent management, and community partnerships, Johnson-Reece brings a unique blend of expertise to her consulting work. This allows her to deliver a comprehensive, cus- tomer centered, bottom line focused approach for her clients. "I've been 'in the trenches'" says Johnson-Reece, "so I intimately understand the process of building the function, cre- ating a true strategy and the variety of challenges that are faced along the journey. I served as the first Diversity leader and lead multicultural marketing for several Fortune 500 companies. Previous positions include Executive Director, Multicultural Affairs for the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau; Vice President, Global Diversity and Inclusion for ARAMARK Corporation; and Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion with Wyndham Worldwide. In addition, I led Multicultural Marketing for the African and Caribbean Markets at AT&T and the African- American market with Bell Atlantic/Verizon." Johnson-Reece is often asked to share her knowledge and experience and has been a visiting professor at Farleigh Dickinson University, Temple University and Saint Joseph's University. She's also presented at numerous conferences including the Multicultural Foodservice and Hospitality Alliance, Odyssey Business Retreat, Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs, Diversity Best Practices, and the Society of Human Resource Management to name a few. The topics she speaks on range from "Can you answer the question "Why?" and "Are you sure you have enough support and resources?" to "5 rea- sons why Diversity Leaders have the hardest jobs in any organization" and "The lucrative untapped Multicultural consumer. N E W S M A K E R S B M & T ••• July/August 2015 ••• www.blackmeetingsandtourism.com 6 Marcus Margerum serves as vice president of Government and Community Affairs with the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB). He is responsible for representing the interest of the ACVB and its members with the City of Atlanta and the State of Georgia. Margerum is assuming the responsibilities held by Kathleen Bertrand, longtime ACVB executive, who recently announced her retirement from the Bureau. Prior to joining the ACVB, Margerum has held several leadership positions in the Atlanta attractions and hospitality industry. He was the vice president of Marketing & Communications during the launch of the College Football Hall of Fame & Chick-fil-A Fan Experience, vice president of Marketing and Sales for Zoo Atlanta, president of Hospitality Industry Professionals (HIP), chair of the Marketing Committee for the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) and the chair of the ACVB Attractions Taskforce. Before entering in the hospitality industry, Margerum worked in the field of consumer package goods as a Brand Strategy Consultant for the Zyman Group and in the field of Brand Management for SC Johnson Wax and L'Oreal USA. Some of the brands that grew under his management include Ziploc, Glade, Raid, Scrubbing Bubbles, Dark & Lovely, Optimum Care and Magic Shave.
