The dates for the conference are July 26- 31, 2016. Room rates at the Caribe Royale are $99 for a double or king room, $119 for a king deluxe, $199 for a villa and $299 for and executive suite. WORDS & DEEDS On March 3, 2015, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) held its Conference in Houston at the Westin Memorial City. The theme of this con- ference was entitled, "A 'Manner' of Being – Exploring the Character of Muslims." The conference consisted of three tracks for a variety of audience members, including adults, Muslim Student Association (MSA) and Muslim Youth of North America (MYNA). Each track included several sessions and parallel ses- sions that participants could attend, each geared towards those specific age groups. Conference speakers included ISNA President Azhar Azeez, active advisor and published academic Joe Bradford, leading civil rights attorney and CAIR- San Francisco Bay Area Executive Director Zahra Billoo, Sheikh Mokhtar Maghraoui, founder of Islam in Spanish, and Jaime Mujahid Fletcher. In the evening, a fundraising banquet was held where Dr. Abdel Fustok and Dr. Saleha Khumwala were celebrated for their long-term commitment to the Houston Muslim community. The banquet included a keynote address from renowned international scholar Sheikh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi. Entertainment was provided by hip-hop nasheed artist Mo Sabri, and Ebru painter, Nizli Cizmeci. Contact Basharat Sleem at (317) 839 1825 for information. * * * * * * * * * * * On March 24, 2014 the Allstate Gospel Superfest, delivered a powerful live concert event recorded for TV at the historic House of Hope Arena in Chicago, IL. Film and television stars Vivica A. Fox, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Fonzworth Bently served as co-hosts for the celebration. Over thirty acts took the stage as the show honored two outstanding 80s hit-makers, Richard Smallwood and Pastor Marvin Winans for lifetime achievement. The event included performances by J.
