PATRONS | Fall 2015 33 All Aboard the SS YPPA Torrance Memorial's Young Physicians and Professionals Alliance (YPPA) hosted its third annual networking mixer in March with a nautical flair at the Redondo Beach King Harbor Yacht Club. About 100 castaways joined the festivities for the "three-hour tour" that invited attendees to engage in a speed networking exercise designed to facilitate many introductions in a short amount of time. YPPA was established with the purpose of community engagement, support and advancement of Torrance Memorial Medical Center. In July, members participated in the group's first-ever hike at the Portuguese Bend Nature Reserve in Palos Verdes. YPPA's own resident mountaineer Nadine Bobit guided the group at an invigorating pace that concluded with mimosas. In case you missed it, additional hikes will be scheduled for this fall and winter.
