It is the perfect ingredient for cocktails with a delicate yet persistent finish. It can be served straight or with a splash of soda. CINZANO Extra Dry is a dry vermouth that is delicately flavored. It can be enjoyed straight or with ice and as a perfect base for many dry cocktails. CINZANO Bianco has a fragrant, full-bodied and delicate aroma. This sweet vermouth is extremely versatile, and can be enjoyed straight as an aperitif or as an ingredient in a cocktail, but should always be served chilled. Bartender Romeo Mendoza keeps it fresh, and old-school, with an array of vermouth-based cocktails at Terroni in Downtown Los Angeles. should be used with great success in reinvented cocktails and libations. "It is always interesting to see how certain ingredients and cocktails trend, and vermouth has moved with these trends," notes bartender Romeo Mendoza of Terroni, who, soft spoken and thoughtful, is a delightful contrast to the bustle and vibe that is this high- ceilinged mecca of Italian cuisine and culture in Downtown Los Angeles. Bringing the new to the old school is a driving force behind the bar at Terroni, where a concerted effort is made to incorporate an Italian ele- ment into each cocktail, and Cinzano fits right in as a nice dolce component of Terroni's ever-growing vermouth selection. Expressions of CINZANO CINZANO Cocktail Recipes Bitter Giuseppe "When I started here [at Terroni] I fell in love with amari and vermouth and the versatility of bitter compo- nents," explains Mendoza. "In the Bitter Giuseppe, the salt and bitter really balance out the sweetness of the vermouth, with the lemon giving a touch of structure through its acidity." ◗ 2 oz. Cynar ◗ 1 oz. CINZANO Rosso ◗ 6 dashes of orange bitters ◗ 2 dashes of salt Combine and stir in a mixing tin. Strain into an old fashioned glass, over large ice cube. Garnish with a lemon twist. Red Hook "The Manhattan is undoubtedly our most requested 'throwback' cocktail. I like to recommend the Red Hook as an interest- ing alternative. Plus, I love Maraschino, so . . ." Mendoza shrugs with a smile. ◗ 2 oz. Willett 2 Year Rye ◗ ½ oz. Maraschino ◗ ½ oz. CINZANO Rosso ◗ 2 dashes of angostura bitters Shake and strain to a coupe. Blood & Sand "A little smoky, a little viscous, with a pop of fruit. The vermouth and orange juice and scotch play well together." ◗ ¾ oz. CINZANO Rosso ◗ ¾ oz. Bank Note Scotch ◗ ¾ oz. Cherry Heering ◗ ¾ oz. orange juice Shake and strain to a coupe. CINZANO is imported by Palm Bay International.
