Château de Bligny was built by the Marquis de Dampierre in 1773 the heart of the southern part of the Champagne vineyards called the Côte des Bars. Today, the property is owned by the Rapeneau family in which third generation Jean-Remy heads up the team. Château de Bligny is a unique champagne property. It is the only Champagne to enjoy a "Château" appellation as a champagne harvester as well as a maker. Working with exclusively the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties, Champagne Château de Bligny is the ultimate definition of a true "RM" producer (which stands for Récoltant- Manipulant).
