Want A Digital Career That Takes You Places? Step Into Singapore's Interactive & Digital Media Hub Singapore's Interactive and Digital Media (IDM) industry extends beyond just games and animation. It encompasses sectors that create digital content for different genres, as well as production of electronic games, animation, special effects, licensing and mechandising, content hosting and financing. The industry is projected to generate 10,000 new jobs and US$8 billion worth of value added by 2018. Singapore's media industry has made significant inroads into the international market, featuring a slate of co-production projects with leading international players across various platforms. Here are some of the leading industry players that have established their presence in Singapore: Lucasfilm is developing an animated TV series, full-feature animation films and hand-held games in Singapore – its first overseas animation studio. Google and Yahoo! have their Southeast Asian headquarters in Singapore to handle their online business in the region. Double Negative, the leading UK-based visual effects house that is renowned for its work on major Hollywood productions like Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, established a Singapore studio in 2009. Ubisoft has opened a game development studio to develop titles in portable and home consoles. Sunwoo Entertainment, a leading Korean animation studio, has established its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore to produce animation, develop content, and manage global distribution and intellectual property. Leading Japanese game company Tecmo Koei, produced its first made-in-Singapore Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game in its game development studio in Singapore.
