Black Meetings & Tourism announced recently that it is presenting its revamped Global Travel Pavilion (GTP) at this year's 45th Annual Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference (CBC ALC) to be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC September 16-19. PUBLISHER'S MESSAGE Solomon J. Herbert Publisher/Editor-In- Chief E-Mail: BMandTMag@aol.com The BM&T Global Travel Pavilion will be a high visibility designated section of the CBC ALC Exhibition Showcase which is devoted to domestic and international travel and tourism related businesses & services. The Legislative Conference is the premier gathering of African- Americans for the purpose of cultivating engaging policy discussions on issues that impact Black communities around the world. An anticipated 7,000-8,0 00 CBC ALC registrants are expected to visit the Exhibition Showcase and BM&T's Global Travel Pavilion. The five-day CBC ALC features more than 70 policy sessions, a national town hall meeting, contract procurement fair, and numerous workshops. It is one of the largest gatherings of African-American professionals. Black Meetings & Tourism successfully presented the BM&T Global Travel Pavilion for a number of years at both the CBC ALC in DC and The African Marketplace in Los Angeles, but discon- tinued the event after 9/11 and the result- ing downturn in travel activity. The deci- sion was made to bring back the BM&T Global Travel Pavilion after renewed inter- est was expressed in the event by many of BM&T's industry partners. BM&T is also exploring the possibility of bringing the Global Travel Pavilion to other venues and events as well, includ- ing next year's Essence Music Festival, to be held in New Orleans over the July 4th holiday weekend. If you are interested in participating as a sponsor and/or vendor in any upcoming BM&T Travel Pavilion events, just call the Black Meetings &Tourism office at (818) 709-0646 and speak to a sales represen- tative.
