T P O C N E W S B R I E F S G reetings Travel Professi-onals, As I did, many of you spent time after the conference visiting family and friends; I pray everyone is back safely. Those of you who could not attend this year's conference, you were certainly missed. A special Thanks goes to Carolyn White, TPOC president for a job well done, the conference was a success. The compliments and kind words during the conference have given us the incentive and determination to take the organization to the next level. To all of the chapter presidents and each of your members, we thank you for your support and willingness to help. It was nice hav- ing Roy Jay and Juanita with us as well as Solomon and Gloria Herbert. Their presence and support to TPOC is most valuable. Last but not least, we must thank ALL of our sponsors who made this conference and trade show possible. GOOD NEWS!: One of our goals was to have at least 100 trav- el professionals in attendance and our goal was met and exceeded. The attendees included agents, meeting planners, suppliers and other travel professionals. We are happy to announce 25% of our guests were first timers. We'd like to welcome the following new members: Lemonia Declouette, Joycelyn Ford and Valarie Childs-Washington, all from Detroit, Michigan. Mattie Teal, from Memphis, Tennessee; Olabisi Uwimana, Janice Jones and Barbara McPherson, all from Atlanta, Georgia. James and Pamela Kimble from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Howard Scurry from Greenville, South Carolina and Trina Smith from McKinney, Texas. We also like to welcome back Norma Pratt from Wayne, Pennsylvania and Beverly Webb and Dedra Jenkins from Detroit, Michigan. POST CONFERENCE FAM: We received rave reviews from everyone that went on the Post Conference Fam to Montgomery/Selma. The Board would like to thank Miriam Padilla for arranging a great itinerary. We especially like to thank the Montgomery CVB for being such a gracious host and a job well done. Please watch out for more information on this great FAM. FRIENDS AND FAMILY: Our guests, who attended the Friends and Family weekend, stated they had a marvelous time. Thanks, to Mary Brantley for a job well done. I understand Mary's attention to details and the needs of our guest were outstanding. TPOC MIRACLE GLOBE: Thanks to all of you that gave a financial contribution to the Miracle Globe. Carol Kirkland and the Miracle Globe committee gave this year's recipient, "Future Foundation," a check in the amount of $1,000.00. The organiza- tion helps under served Metro-Atlanta youth make a better future for themselves. Way to go Miracle Globe!
