Well, we here at The SOMM Journal, in association with Banfi Vintners' Cru Artisan Wines portfolio, decided to do just this, and the results were extraordinary. This diverse group of winemakers took time out from their busy schedules to traipse across the country, sharing their knowledge, their wines and their best stories with somms and wine professionals in California, Washington State and New York. What follows are highlights of one seminar at each of the major stops along the journey. After the final bell rang, we sent the winemakers back to their respective regions road-weary yet very happy, and our new "graduates" back to their workplaces full of expanded wine knowledge.
