SOMMELIER SUMMIT C I A THE by Jonathan Cristaldi and Meridith May / photos by Alexander Rubin A FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND WINE EDUCATION EVENT AT THE CULINARY INSTITUTE OF AMERICA AT GREYSTONE LEADERS OF THE CIA The first annual Sommelier Summit, presented by The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone kicked off three days of seminars (April 26–28) featuring an assem- blage of top wine professionals with an unveiling ceremony of the plaques for the lastest class of Vintners Hall of Fame inductees: Cesar Chavez, Meredith "Merry" Edwards, Robert M. Parker Jr. and Frank Schoonmaker. The following pages present highlights from the many seminars and tastings, expertly curated by the CIA's incredibly talented team: Bob Bath, MS, Professor, Wine and Beverage Studies; Christie Dufault, Associate Professor, Wine and Beverage Studies; Traci Dutton, Manager – Public Wine and Beverage Studies, along with a host of students and alumni of the CIA.
