Michael Muser is GM and Sommelier at Grace in Chicago. { SOMMjournal.com }  105 Somm Da�e with a Laura Levy Shatkin isn't shy when it comes to asking a wine buyer out to dinner . . . as long as he brings the wine and she gets to choose the venue! This is the second installment of her new series. WHERE The cuisine at Fat Rice (2957 W. Diversey, Chicago) showcases the Euro-Asian union between Southeast Asia, India and China through the lens of Portuguese settlers. Dream team Abraham Conlon and Adrienne Lo trav- eled for months tasting and re-created the traditions of old to craft their unique variations on curries, wood-grilled meats, hand-made noodles and rice dishes. WHO Sommelier Michael Muser of Grace Restaurant in Chicago chose Portuguese table wines as his theme of the night, given the amalgam of cuisine at Fat Rice. Muser wanted "to pull out the amazing character of some fun lesser-known varietals." He selected a range of vintages as well, using age as yet another distinctive pairing detail.
