AT THE CAPITOL AEA Education Day at the Capitol Monday, March 12, 2012 Make sure your voice is heard on policy is- sues affecting quality public education. State legislators need to hear from you, the class- room teacher, education support professional, retired educator, and education student. Meet Legislators Legislators welcome the opportunity to meet constituents. AEA Education Day is your opportunity to meet with your elected officials and voice your concerns over proposed legislation that will impact your students and school. Lobbying 101 Learn the ins and outs of the legislative process by observing committees in action, view floor proceedings, and meet with legislators on important legislation moving through the process of becoming law. Public Education Advocate By visiting your legislators at the capitol, you are represent- ing your colleagues, students, school, and community. This is an incredible responsibility that deserves recognition. If public education advocates are not at the Arizona Legislature, then someone else will speak for us and not in our favor. It is impor- tant that we make sure our voice is heard. Learn more about AEA Education Day at the Capitol and how you can get involved by contacting your local president.
