eSProfessional "ESP: It's More Than a Job, It's a Career!" 2012 NEA ESP National Conference The 2012 NEA Education Support Professionals (ESP) Conference will be held March 9 – 11, 2012, at the Marriott Memphis Downtown Hotel in Memphis, TN. The conference is designed to provide pro- fessional development opportunities for partici- pants to help them gain the skills they need to build stronger locals: building strong internal and external relationships, organizing members, and enhancing NEA ESP members' ability to influence positively student achievement. There will also be some pre-conference workshops. Registration The conference registration fee ($150) in- cludes a reception, dinner, and entertainment on Friday, a continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday. Online registration is now open at https:// www.regonline.com/2012_nea_esp_nation- al_conference. As a reminder, pre-conference spots are reserved on a first come, first served basis. The deadline to request a 100 per- cent refund of fees is typically two weeks after online registration closes. Lodging Marriott Memphis Downtown Hotel 250 North Main Street Memphis, TN 38103 Check-in: 4:00 p.m. Check-out: 12:00 p.m. Make hotel reservations directly by calling 901-527-7300 and referencing the "NEA ESP National Conference" to receive the special conference rates plus applicable taxes. Parking costs range from $18.00 a day for self-parking (spaces extremely limited) to $20.00 a day for valet parking. Both services include in and out garage privileges. Off- site parking is available across the street at Saint Mary's Catholic Church for $5-$10 a day. Parking by street meters are free weekdays after 6 p.m. and on weekends. Hotel Telephone Charges Local calls are a flat rate of $1.09. Long distance calls are $6.13 for the first minute and remaining charges vary depending on the duration of the call and the area called. In room high-speed Internet is complimentary with all room reservations. Airport Taxi and Shuttle Services Taxi service from the airport to the hotel is approximately $30 - $35 each way. Shuttle service from the airport to the hotel average $15.00-$18.00 each way. Reservations are required for the services.
