And that's exactly what a group of Bay Area sommeliers came to discover at Wente Vineyards and Murrieta's Well wineries on a crystal-clear morning in late May. Inside the renovated winery, named after Joaquin Murrieta—an infamous bandito who was said to frequent an artesian well on the property before California Rangers ended his short-lived career in 1853—our cadre of sea- soned sommeliers fueled up for a full day of experiential, hands-on learning with warm breakfast burritos.
