At the Montage's signature restau- rant, Studio, Smith manages 2,500 wine selec- tions, including 50 wines served by the glass. May 14: San Francisco Headmaster Christopher Sawyer, Educator/Consultant Known for an encyclopedic knowledge of wines from around the globe, Christopher Sawyer has served as a sommelier at some of wine country's finest properties, and was voted Best Sommelier in Sonoma County in 2014. Less well known is Chris's affinity for pairing wine and music: A former college radio DJ, Sawyer is known for private midnight tastings matched to his collection of vinyl. May 18: New York City Headmasters Jeff Porter, Beverage Director, B&B Hospitality Group, and Dan Amatuzzi, Wine Director, Eataly A Texas native who earned his stripes in Austin's best wine shops, Porter has served as a som- melier at some of California's leading Italian restaurants, most recently Osteria and Pizzeria Mozza in Los Angeles. After moving to New York, Porter, an Advanced Sommelier who is currently an MS candidate, took the reigns at Del Posto, where he oversees an extensive international wine list. Dan Amatuzzi is one of the industry's leading young somms, who published his first book, Italian Wine for the Student, at 26. In addition to continuing to write about wine, Amatuzzi sources all wine for Eataly New York's restau- rants and wine shops.
