"My favorite part of this position is being able to stay around the game of golf, which has played a very important part of my life," says Pike, a fellow Indiana native. "I was a Division-1 golfer at Indiana University from 2005 to 2009, and this has given me the advantage to connect directly with our target market. The next step for my market in 2012 will be gaining more off-premise outlets that have the product available for purchase." Brie Grant, who is the Market Manager for Fuzzy's Vodka in Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico and Hawaii, notes Zoeller's good-natured but unwavering determination is shared by the entire team. "One of the ways I best describe Fuzzy Zoeller is that he reminds me of home. After moving from Nebraska to Southern California 12 years ago, I struggled with finding that feeling of home. A Tribute to a Fallen Hero and Help for Those in Need Fuzzy's Charities for Kids donates $10,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project. 106 / the tasting panel / december 201 1 On October 16, the hearts of Fuzzy Zoeller and the team collectively stopped moments after a crash that claimed the life of 2011 Indy 500 winner Dan Wheldon and also involved Fuzzy's Vodka driver Buddy Rice. While the Fuzzy's Vodka family was relieved to know Rice was safe, Zoeller led the group in a calming, moving tribute to Wheldon and his family. This compassionate spirit will carry forth in the days and months to come, and Zoeller will continue to pour his heart out to the charities he truly cares about in the coming year. The day after the tragic events, a charity golf tournament went on as scheduled and a $10,000 check was presented to the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org). The 16th annual Fuzzy's Wolf Challenge, planned for August 2012, will continue a tradition that has raised over $2 million for Fuzzy's Charities for Kids (fuzzyvodka.net/aboutfuzzy), distribut- ing donations to various children's charities.
