{ SOMMjournal.com }  95 2005 Grands Echézeaux Caroline Styne: "Nose of rosehips, exotic spices, heady aromas of strawberry; lean and voluptuous at the same time." Anthony Dias Blue: "Elegant and balanced with great acid structure; complex, floral and aromatic." Karen Moneymaker : "Forest floor, soy, and crushed rose petals on the nose, with plum and dusty tannins round- ing out the palate." Group rating: 98. Drink 2024–50 years. 2006 Grands Echézeaux Taylor Parsons: "Lifted on the nose, super delicate and feminine. White tealeaf, cherry blossom and plum. Palate is like silk." Caroline Styne: "Crazy nose of con- centrated kirsch notes, mushroom and époisses. Lean, but lovely, with grip and tannin." Maria Garcia: "Floral, light red berry with a sweet, almost balsamic note on the nose. High acid with a touch of stemy greenness on the palate." Group rating: 92. Drink now–2020. 2007 Grands Echézeaux Anthony Dias Blue: "Rose petals and lush spice aromatics. This wine is a cornucopia of flavors; licorice and dark herbs with silky and mineral texture." Paul Sherman: "Beet root, cranberry and red cherry with green tea leaf and red rock dust. Nice balance between acid and tannins." Maria Garcia: "Lean across the board with notes of hibiscus flower and just ripe red cherry. 2007 as a vintage is so underrated, so I have a bit of a crush on this wine." Group rating: 94. Drink 2020–2030. 2008 Grands Echézeaux Taylor Parsons: "Nose is beautiful and expressive; a hint of wasabi and star anise. Palate is so very savory, almost meaty, mineral and intense." Paul Sherman: "Clay, mushrooms, cranberry, strawberry and sour cherry with just a touch of baking spice. Palate is balanced by the acidity, which also carries the minerality." Karen Moneymaker: "Spicy and masculine with fine and dusty tannins. Acidy is soft and almost pillowy; oak presence is marked by a richness, warmth and length on the palate." Group rating: 95. Drink now–2025. 2009 Grands Echézeaux Caroline Styne: "The nose speaks to the vintage— seductive, ripe and pretty. Big, concentrated and opulent on the palate with darker fruit notes, elements of green tea and tobacco." Paul Sherman: "Ripe red and black fruits, violets and fresh-cut green herbs. Medium acidity and tannins with just a touch of forest floor." Karen Moneymaker : "Agave, baking spice and stemmy on the nose; mossy with supple, sweet tannins on the palate. This one is built for the long-haul." Group rating: 98. Drink now–50 years. 2010 Grands Echézeaux Taylor Parsons: "Korean barbecue, wood spice and tannin. Perhaps going through a bit of a 'dumb' stage, though the fine, granular quality of the tannins and purity of the fruit will carry into something remark- able in the years to come." Anthony Dias Blue: "Lush and dense with fine tannins and deep powerful spice." Maria Garcia: "Closed and firm with black cherry and thistle; needs time to open but this will be a powerful wine." Group rating: 93. Drink 2020–2035. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is imported by Wilson Daniels. Caroline Styne, co-owner and Wine Director, AOC/Lucques/Tavern.
