FOR MEMBERS THE ACTORS FUND HELPS SAG MEMBERS IN NEED NATIONWIDE D id you know that nearly 38 percent of the people assisted nationwide by The Actors Fund last year were Screen Actors Guild members? That's more than 4,800 people in 2010! The Fund's free and confidential services and programs exist to help you maintain and pursue your career while obtaining the support you need, knowing that you are part of a caring community. Whether you need emergency financial assistance, affor- dable housing, health care, supplemental employment or counseling, The Fund meets the needs of SAG members everywhere with a unique understanding of the challenges involved in the life of an actor. HERE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE MANY WAYS THE FUND HELPS ACTORS: • Have a problem with finances, chemical dependency, or need counseling and support? The social services team helps people find lasting solutions to the problems they face. • Uninsured? Learn how to obtain affordable health insurance through the Artists Health Insurance Resource Center (ahirc.org), offering individual counseling, insurance workshops and a comprehensive website with detailed state-by-state information. • Out of work? You can get a boost from The Actors Fund Work Program, which helps everyone in our business across the country to find meaningful sideline work, make the right career decisions and get the training they need. • And for seniors and those with HIV/AIDS, the supportive housing facilities in Manhattan, Brooklyn, New Jersey and West Hollywood provide comfortable communities to call home. The Actors Fund provides these and other essential programs for all SAG members. Why not consider a tax- deductible donation to help make The Actors Fund's important work possible? All SAG members have a special reason to help The Fund, since it's here for people just like you. Call or visit actorsfund.org to find out more.
