11 B M & T ••• January/February 2015 ••• www.blackmeetingsandtourism.com The Resort at Pedregal, Los Cabos' premier, ultra-luxury, landmark destina- tion resort, today announced that it is targeting a soft reopening on January 31, 2015. The Five Diamond resort has been closed temporarily for renovations fol- lowing Hurricane Odile. "Thanks to the hard work and diligence of both our outstanding staff and won- derful teams helping us reimagine the Resort, we look forward to welcoming our first guests back to The Resort at Pedregal early in 2015," said Bob Holland, inter- im general manager of The Resort at Pedregal. "We have repaired much of the damage caused by Hurricane Odile and remain hard at work to complete the restoration. With some finishing touches remaining, we are on track to continue offering the finest resort experience in Mexico. "As part of our forward jour ney, we are striving to 'renew, re-energize and redis- cover' our resort," Holland continued. "We are renewing with exciting new experi- ences, including the Champagne Terrace at our restaurant, El Farallon, along with signature Mexican Folk Healing treatments at our spa, Luna y Mar. To re-energize, we are placing a new focus on health with spa treatments and culinary creations. And finally, we are red iscovering Baja through food tours, additional local cuisine and an even higher level of our famed personal concierge service." The Resort at Pedregal recently terminated the former manager and severed all ties to the Capella brand for cause. Although Capella attempted to block the Resort owner's decision to terminate their management agreement by filing for a tempo- rary restraining order and prelimi nary injunction in the New York Supreme Court, County of New York, the Court ruled against Capella. The Court's November 12, 2014 ruling maintained the ownership's operation of The Resort at Pedregal as an independent, ultra-luxury resort. "Although The Resort at Pedregal has experienced some change lately, we are absolutely committed to providing our guests with an unparalleled vacation experi- ence ," Holland said. "We have retained nearly every staff member, each of whom shares our commitment to delivering a world-class vacation experience. We fully expect The Resort at Pedregal to reopen with standards as high, if not higher, than were offered previously under the Capella brand."
