His distinguished career includes tenures at the helm of some of the world's leading hotel bars and winning many of the world's most prestigious cocktail competitions, including the Bacardi-Martini Grand Prix World Final, J.White Course in Singapore and, most recently, the Best In Show award at the Iron Mixologist Competition sponsored by Wine & Spirits Wholesalers Of America. He is also a judge at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Elizabeth Kate is a freelance writer specializing in wine. A French Wine Scholar, Italian Wine Specialist and Master of Service certified by the Italian Sommelier Association, Elizabeth com- pleted her WSET Advanced Certificate with Distinction. She writes for the North American Sommelier Association and was the In-House Wine Consultant to KSFO Radio's "Edible Escapes" in San Francisco. Elizabeth is currently in the WSET Level 4 Diploma program. John Curley is a California photographer with locations in San Francisco and Los Angeles, specializing in journalistic, fine-art documentary projects of all kinds. His editorial clients include the New York Times, USA Today, CNN, New York maga- zine, the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco magazine, Sierra magazine and many others. Commercial clients include the San Francisco Giants, BMW, Korean Air Lines and the Intel Corporation. Jessica Dupuy is a freelance writer with writing credits for Texas Monthly, National Geographic Traveler, Imbibe, Fodors,The Hollywood Reporter, Saveur, Texas Highways and numerous Austin publica- tions. A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Dupuy's favorite writing pursuits include: food, wine, and travel. Her passion for wine has led her to the level of Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers as well as Certified Specialist of Wine and Certified Specialist of Spirits through the Society of Wine Educators. She is a member of Les Dames d'Escoffier–Austin and is on the Advisory board for the Wine and Food Foundation of Texas.
