April 26–28: Inaugural CIA Sommelier Summit Hosted by The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, Napa Valley, CA. This viniferous meeting of the minds is a platform for sommeliers to gain knowledge, connections and resources to expand and grow their careers with semi- nars touching on tasting essentials, wine list development, customer relations, food and wine pairing and much more. May 13–20: Cru Artisan College Tour Hosted by THE SOMM Journal and Banfi Vintners: Orange County (May 12), San Francisco (May 14), Seattle (May 18) and New York (May 20). We will also be letting out our inner party animals for a very special midnight tasting in Las Vegas on May 15. See page 52 for more details and registration. May 5–7: Paso Cab Camp Hosted by the Paso Robles Cab Collective and The SOMM Journal. During this two-day intensive tasting, we will explore the 13 districts in Paso Robles. From the Templeton Gap, with its broad alluvial terraces and Salinas River rock, to the young sandy soils of The Highlands, come prepared to taste and learn! May 27–29: International Chardonnay Symposium Hosted by The SOMM Journal in Pismo Beach, CA. During this incredible three-day event of tastings, seminars and educational panels, we will bring together those who have blazed a path for this noble varietal, as well as those who continue to revolutionize Chardonnay, from vine to glass. July 1: Spirited Republic Tasting in Washington, D.C. As part of our ongoing partnership with the National Archives' celebration of the history of spirits and cocktails in the United States, we will kick off the Fourth of July weekend with a massive cocktail party and American- cocktail competition!
