Welch has joined Burbank's WELCH Cameron|Pace Group (CPG) as COO, where he will be responsible for leading the company's global expansion, focusing on strategic planning and execution, international business development, and worldwide operations of the group, which is co-chaired by James Cameron and Vince Pace. Prior to joining CPG, Welch was president of Evolve Consulting. He has also held roles as COO, North America for Prime Focus Group, CFO for the ComputerCafe Group, and president of 525 Studios. As production execu- tive on nearly three-dozen feature films, Welch's credits include Iron Man, Speed Racer, Spider-Man 3, Pans Labyrinth and King Kong. CAROL DUNN Carol Dunn has been hired as executive DUNN producer/managing director of LA-based Squeak E. Clean, a commercial music and sound design company, overseeing the day-to- day operations. Dunn has over 15 years of music placement and music licensing rights experience under her belt, on projects ranging from Baz Luhrman's Romeo+Juliet to Boogie Nights. She has worked for Interscope Records, Capitol Records and Windswept Pacific, Amber Music, and Asche & Spencer. Zach Sinick, who has been with Squeak E. Clean from its inception, will continue his role as head of production/EP. Brent Nich- ols, another Squeak E. lifer, has taken on the position of creative director. ROGER BECK, DAVID TURNER Halo Post in London has hired Roger TURNER Beck as COO and David Turner as director of film post production. Beck, who is responsible for managing the integration of the new Noel Street facility into the larger Halo group, has over two decades in media services, including stints at Granada Television, Technicolor Creative Services and Ascent Media Group. Turner has overseen the sound post produc- tion on many films, including Clash of the Titans, Greenzone and Tamara Drewe, as well as TV shows like Luther and Law & Order: UK. Having previously worked at Molinare, Matrix Studios and BBC Radio, Turner has a lot of experience managing sound departments and while at Pep- per Post, recently, established a Dolby Premier dubbing stage. Before joining Re:Think, McGrath spent 20 years as GM of Cutters. Re:Think focuses on creating photoreal CGI and is aiming its efforts at automo- tive work, pharmaceuticals, commercials, feature films, interactive content, mobile content, events and more. The company also plans open a perma- nent headquarters in Chicago later this year. MCGRATH ROGER BECK Reno, NV-based Bright Technologies has promoted Roger Beck from worldwide man- ager, technical services, to CTO. He will establish technical standards and ensure adherence for product development; be responsible for manag- ing Bright's technical committees, recruiting and managing, and overall staff training and motiva- tion; and oversee sales activities and function as the primary contact for customers and resellers regarding technical questions in the pre-sales process. Beck began his career with Bright in 2007 as senior systems engineer. Prior to his appointment as CTO, he served as the compa- ny's worldwide manager. BECK STEPHEN VENNING, TIM DAVIES, LARUE ANDERSON The Mill LA has made three new hires: Stephen Venning, who joins as EP/new busi- ness and spent the past 10 years as an EP at The Mill London, will head up the studio's newly- formed design and creative direction arm; Tim Davies joins as a VFX supervisor/lead Flame artist, with experience in commercials and fea- tures, as well as design; and LaRue Anderson joins as producer, telecine, producing all projects for the office's new telecine division headed up by veteran colorist Adam Scott. VENNING, ANDERSON DAVIES, ROB ALLEY LA's mOcean has added marketing and design veteran Rob Alley as the company's new digital creative director. He will direct all aspects of the digital creative process, from concepting to presentation, and also work to create new digital strategies. Alley has over 11 years of experience in the entertainment, auto and technology busi- nesses. Most recently, he was the CD for MRM Worldwide, SF.
