www.postmagazine.com 39 POST FEBRUARY 2015 ACCEVOLUTION'S FREE TRANSITION DESIGNER FOR PREMIERE FRANKFURT, GERMANY - Accevolution (www.accevolution.de) is off ering a free, "lean" version of Transition Designer, its Adobe Premiere Pro plug-in that off ers high-quality wipe transitions along with a range of adjustable parame- ters for creating unique eff ects. Initially, the free version is being released for the Windows platform, but the company plans on off ering a Mac version in the fi rst quarter of 2015. The "full" version of Transition Designer ($195) allows users to create invisi- ble transitions, eff ect fades, dissolves and text eff ects. The release is designed to allow pros to quickly create transitions instead of spending time putting them together in After Eff ects. For scenarios that require exact timing, the release has a time-remapping feature. User can also choose between diff erent eff ect groups, such as push, wipe, rumble or dissolve. Most eff ects can also be combined with a glow or blur eff ect. In addition, all eff ects are rendered on the GPU, so users can make adjust to parameters and see the results in realtime. ZERO VFX'S NEW COMPRESSION PREVIEW PLUG-IN ENABLES REVIEW PRIOR TO RENDERING BOSTON — Zero VFX (www.zerovfx.com) has launched its fi rst new software plug-in for the post market as a result of its newly-formed software division, Code Zero Software. The new plug-in, Compression Preview, enables After Eff ects artists to preview sequences prior to rendering, check for unwanted artifacts, banding and color shifts, and make tweaks and changes to the com- pression parameters to ensure the best possible end product. Zero VFX also announced it has teamed up with Boston-based Noise Indus- tries and Ephere to help market, sell and support Compression Preview. With connections and expertise in the VFX software industry, the combined team is positioned to provide comprehensive sales and marketing support for After Eff ects artists on a global basis. Compression Preview is available now for $49. PLUG-INS BORIS CONTINUUM COMPLETE ADDS MOCHA TRACKING WORKFLOW BOSTON — Fresh from their recent acquisition of Imagineer Systems, Boris FX (www.borisfx.com) has added the ability to import Mocha's planar tracked data directly into edit systems such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, and Blackmagic Resolve in Boris Continuum Complete Version 9. The combination of BCC 9 and Mocha can be used for motion tracking screen replacements on cell phones or computer screens, or even for tracking eff ects like lens fl ares to camera motion, giving editors a workfl ow previously only available in dedicated, high-end eff ects systems. BCC 9 also adds new features for keying and image restoration, and an in- tegrated FX Browser to play and preview presets. Boris Continuum Complete Version 9 is now available, with prices ranging from $695 to $1,995. FXFACTORY ROLLS OUT STORY POP FOR FINAL CUT PRO X BOSTON — Story Pop from FXFactory (www.fxfactory.com) features more than 400 animated and customizable Final Cut Pro X whiteboard style drawings designed for high defi nition (16:9 aspect ratio) applications. With 448 drawings of people, animals, objects and symbols, users can create their own story, with full control over size, location, color and ani- mation style. According to the company, users can draw, slide, fade or pop images. The download comes as part of FxFactory installer for $99.
