EDUCATION AND OUTREACH IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD Sesame Street, the Opera, and Juilliard aren't the only great neighbors for SAG-AFTRA in New York City. On November 21, New York President Mike Hodge and National and New York Board member and MORE Committee Co-Chair Rebecca Damon teamed up with former LaGuardia student and SAG-AFTRA member Andrew Gelles at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts for a special outreach session with high school seniors. LaGuardia High School is part of the NYC public school system and specializes in performing and visual arts. LaGuardia High School, which the movie and television series Fame is based on, is just blocks away from the new SAG-AFTRA New York office. Hodge and Damon (pictured in the center rear) received an enthusiastic welcome from the students who welcomed SAG-AFTRA to the Lincoln Center arts neighborhood before having a lively discussion about the benefits of union membership for the next generation of performers.
