Committee hosted a discussion of Asian portrayals in film and
television at SAG headquarters on May 10. The event,
titled The New Asia America: Transforming
Perceptions, was held to coincide
with Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and featured a distinguished panel discussing ways to challenge Asian stereotypes. From left, Chris Tashima (Visas and Virtue, Day of Independence), Ellen Ho (Ktown Cowboys), James Hong (Big Trouble in Little China, Kung Fu Panda), Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy), moderator Jodi Long (Sex in the City, All-American Girl), producer Ken Mok (America's Next Top Model) and casting director Julia Kim (My Bollywood Bride, But I'm a Cheerleader).
