n Director Michael Bay's Transformers, alien robots battle each other in Texas and Hong Kong with- out regard to anything in their path, be it cars, trucks, or high-rise government build- ings. Into the Storm pits a mile- wide tornado against school- children, their guardians, and a storm chaser who take shelter in a storm drain. In Lucy, Actor Scarlett Johansson becomes a superhuman, revenge-seeking warrior when a drug package leaks inside her. Directed by Luc Besson of Nikita and Fih Element fame, the film features visual effects used to create artful mayhem. Industrial Light & Magic was the lead studio on Trans- formers, with Scott Farrar supervising the visual effects. The Paramount Pictures production blasted into the box office with more than half a billion dollars in ticket sales worldwide during the first two weeks. Universal Pictures' Lucy released July 25 with visual effects supervised by Nicholas Brooks and provided by Hatch Production, Industrial Light & Magic, and Rodeo FX.
