august 2014  /  the tasting panel  /  49 Made from the finest Caribbean rum, each of the four Tippy Cow flavors provides a mouth-watering base for fun cocktail concoctions. "Bartenders love Tippy Cow because it's delicious straight-up or with a variety of flavored spirits and coffee," asserts Duane Maas, President of Midwest Custom Bottling. Validating Maas's claims and contributing to Tippy Cow's catalog of scrumptious cocktails, Tom Shippen, resident mix- ologist at Sheryl's, has thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with Tippy Cow's flavor profiles when creating creamy cocktails: "Tippy Cow opens up so many more options when it comes to cream-based cocktails. They are unique and interesting, but they also supply very iconic and classic American flavors," says Shippen. Topped with chocolate syrup and pairing espresso vodka with Tippy Cow Chocolate, Shippen's Caramel Macchiato cocktail unfolds with each creamy and smooth layer, while every luscious flavor lingers on the palate for an experience similar to an iced coffee but slightly more divine: "It's awe- some, I must admit," boasts Shippen. Remember the classic Dreamsicle? Now you can relive the phenomenal taste experience through a cocktail. The Orange Cream Smoothie at Sheryl's mixes Tippy Cow Orange Cream with mango–passion fruit sorbet vodka for a refreshingly cool beverage to carry you through to adult recess. "As soon as we saw the old-school packaging, we were excited. That excitement escalated when we tried it, and after that, we needed to make sure everyone else gave it a shot. Once our customers taste it, it sells itself. They continue to love Tippy Cow, and they've been requesting cocktail creations cen- tered on their favorite flavors," explains Shafer, who loves to mix the Chocolate and Shamrock Mint for a Thin Mint cocktail. Tippy Cow has the quality to compete with everything from flavored vodkas and rums to a variety of liqueurs. The 14 percent alcohol, real dairy cream Tippy Cow flavors exceed expectations and provide a fun, nostalgic factor for today's consumer. To wrap up: Wisconsin cows take their happiness and high- quality dairy very seriously, and there's nothing punny about that! Caramel Macchiato ◗ 1½ oz. Tippy Cow Chocolate ◗ 1½ oz.
