INDUSTRY SPOTLIGHT In Memoriam A sixth generation Barossan, Doug Lehmann—Deputy Chairman of Peter Lehmann Wines, past Managing Director and son of founder Peter Lehmann—passed away in late June at his Barossa home. He was 62. Doug joined Peter Lehmann Wines in 1990 and opened markets in Europe and USA. He also established Peter Lehmann Wines as one of Australia's most respected wine producers. Away from the wine industry, Doug was passionate about cars and fundraising for great causes, including the children's charity Variety Bash. Taste America F rom September 12 through October 25, 2014, the James Beard Foundation's Taste America: "Local Flavor from Coast to Coast" pre- sented by Chase Sapphire Preferred Visa Signature will celebrate America's culinary diversity, stopping in ten cities over five weekends. Each city— Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C.—will enjoy a special evening that starts off with a walk-around tasting reception from a line-up of local chefs, followed by a one-night-only, collaborative four-course dinner crafted by a Taste America All-Star and a local celebrity chef. PHOTO: GAMMA NINE Meet Your Virtual Somm T Y KU Sake & Spirits recently launched the brand's first ever Virtual Sommelier, an educational and holographic in-store display. The Virtual Sommelier is motion-activated and gives consumers a four- minute education on TY KU's premium sake offerings including how sake is prepared, how to enjoy various different kinds of TY KU Sake and recommendations on the best food pairings and how to serve them.
