UPDATE: MONITORS & DISPLAYS HP MONITORS FIRST TO RECEIVE TECHNICOLOR COLOR CERTIFICATION PARIS/HOLLYWOOD — Technicolor (www. technicolor.com) has announced that HP will be participating in the Technicolor Color Certification program. The color-certified HP Envy and HP Pavil- ion monitors will be available in Q3 2014. The color certification program, introduced in June 2013 by Technicolor and Portrait Displays (www.portrait. com), an application software provider (ASP), is a process that controls the colors on the screen of qualifying laptops, monitors, all-in-ones, smart- phones and tablets. To achieve Technicolor Color Certification, products must go through a gauntlet of tests conducted by Portrait Displays to ensure the best color performance. Certification testing includes measuring critical color parameters such as gamut, gamma, white point, and target color accuracy. Once a device passes all of the test criteria, that model is awarded Technicolor Color Certification. The HP Envy (two models including 23- and 24-inch diagonal screen sizes) and HP Pavilion (13 models including 20-, 21.5-, 23-, 25- and 27-inch diagonal screen sizes) micro-thin widescreen backlit monitors feature In-Plane Switching (IPS), a color-rich technology resulting in image and color consistency. BURBANK, CA — FotoKem (www. fotokem.com), an independent- ly-owned, full-service post pro- duction facility, is one of the first customers testing Canon's recent- ly-introduced DP-V3010 4K refer- ence display.
