This software, which won an Academy Sci-Tech Award, takes away much of the labor and time-intensive manual key framing required with visual effects, by allowing editors to track, isolate, stabilize and fix footage. Mocha comes bundled with Adobe's Creative Cloud (as mocha AE), but the standalone mocha Pro has also been used on feature films as a plug-in to systems from Adobe, Apple, Avid, Autodesk and The Foundry. The latest version, mocha Pro version 4, updates the user interface and introduces native stereoscopic support for tracking, roto and removing objects. For editors using Adobe's Premiere Pro, mocha now offers the same copy/ paste workflow available in After Effects. www.mocha-pro.com RED GIANT Red Giant is known for Magic Bullet Looks, a plug-in to create filmic looks. Recently, company developers rebuilt Magic Bullet from scratch, which now offers new color correction tools, better previewing of pre-sets, and a bump in speed of up to 95 percent on Windows and more than 25 percent on Mac. Improved custom-looks management makes it easier to share looks among editors. BulletProof 1.2, a plug-in for cinematographers, is now integrated with PluralEyes, Red Giant's automated audio/ video sync tool. BulletProof sends the footage to PluralEyes in an organized way that allows the user to sync footage immediately. Once synchronized, PluralEyes sends the footage directly to the editing timeline.
