In addition to the television and film edit- ing program, comprehensive programs are offered in new media production; graphics, animation & effects; and audio engineering. Petschek says the graphics program is "hugely popular" and features extensive training on Cinema 4D and Maya, as well as on the Adobe suite of tools. The audio engi- neering program provides all levels of official Avid course work required to pass the Pro Tools operator or expert exams for music or post production. FUTURE MEDIA CONCEPTS Celebrating its 20th year, Future Media Concepts (FMC) was launched as the world's first Avid Authorized Training Center by co-founders Ben Kozuch and Jeff Rothberg. Today, it delivers training via educational confer- ences, in addition to classroom and on-site training at the cus- tomer's location. Most of FMC's courses are also available online via live synchronous streaming with Adobe Connect, a method that's growing in popularity, says Kozuch. "We're unique in the entire range of training we offer ; we're a one-stop shop for all training needs for con- tent creators and IT professionals," he notes. According to Rothberg, FMC's courses "are designed for people already in the industry. They want to hone their skills on the software, or they are adding to their skillsets as the lines between professions continue to blur — for example, editors need to learn VFX." Clients come from broadcasting, post facilities, ad agencies, corporate communica- tions, government and military, and the edu- cational sector, he reports.
