SOLIS THE PALMYRA RESORT & SPA BY VICTORIA HEAD On my last visit to the Caribbean, I was fortunate enough to venture on a tour of the soon to open luxury property, Solis The Palmyra Resort & Spa. This five-diamond resort is being constructed around a concept that combines a new sense of elegance with superior customer service. Solis The Palmyra is breathtakingly set on 16 oceanfront acres at the site of an 18th century Jamaican sugar plantation in the exclusive enclave of Rose Hall in Montego Bay. While touring the resort, I found myself mesmer- ized by the beautiful ocean views from a host of vantage points throughout the resort. From the oceanfront dining area and Ocean Gazebo, to the ocean- front rooms and fitness center, the views were spectacular, creating an inviting ambiance that I'll not soon forget. Solis The Palmyra offers 299 spacious and luxurious guest rooms, as well as one, two, three and four-bedroom suites, penthouses and private villas. The guest rooms feature between 645 to 2,600 sq. ft. of living space with large private terraces located across three towers, the Silver with 88 rooms, the Sable with 88 rooms and the Century with 99 rooms. All guest rooms are designed with the most high-end features and design touches – from marble countertops in the bathrooms, to flat screen televisions in the living areas. Each tower features its own lobby area and din- ing experience. Guests at the resort have at their disposal many choices for fun and recreation. You can walk the nearby trails through lush tropical gardens, partake of a variety of non- motorized water sport activities, horseback ride, enjoy the two pools that overlook the sea or swim in the swimming
