E NFIELD, CT — Music 2 Hues (www.music2hues.com) has just added a new Flagship Series CD release. ‘Outside the Box’ breaks tradition N EW YORK — Production music producer and distributor Omnimusic (www.omnimusic.com) has released a new contemporary concert music library.“Music Outside the Box” is a collection of avant garde and ex- perimental musical tracks by top concert music composers, whose work is now available for media licensing for the first time. “We’ve broken just about every rule of production music, so it will be in- teresting to see how the market reacts,” says Omnimusic CEO Doug Wood of the new release. Unlike traditional production music libraries that cate- gorize music by genre and employ elaborate descriptions and titles to facili- tate usage, Music Outside the Box tracks carry only an identifying color and number. The colors are loosely associated with the activity level, and graphic waveforms revealing the structure of the composition are displayed to help guide users in the selection process. “A lot of producers may listen to these tracks than think we’ve lost our way,” says Wood.“We admit right up front that this music probably isn’t right for corporate America or for the local car dealer radio spot. But for those producers with vision and imagination, who are looking to cut through the audiobabble and grab attention, these are some of the most creatively-stimulating tracks in the world.” Producers can audition full- length music tracks with no pre-registration or passwords.Tracks can be downloaded in 320K MP3 or Wav formats. Direct online licensing is avail- able for broadcast, Internet and non-broadcast productions.
