WorLd of ChiLdren ® aWards World of Children ® Award program was created to recognize and elevate those selfless individuals who make a difference in the lives of children here in the United States and across the globe, regardless of political, religious or geographical boundaries. These courageous leaders recognize that our children are the world's most important asset. Their stories are heroic. World of Children ® Award honors these leaders and grants them funds to support the proven, high-impact programs they have created for children. These $50,000 awards ensure that more children's lives will be touched, improved, and changed forever. The Humanitarian Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to children in the areas of social services, education or humanitarian services. Nominees must have created, managed or otherwise supported a sustainable program which has significantly contributed to children's opportunities to BE SAFE, TO LEARN and TO GROW. The Health Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to children in the fields of health, medicine or the sciences. CrayoLa ChaMpion CreativeLy aLive ChiLdren Creative Leadership grants The 2014 program provides grants for innovative, creative leadership team building within elementary schools. Apply by June 23, 2014, for the opportunity to receive a grant for building your school's creative capacity. Each grant-winning school (up to 20 grants awarded) receives $2,500 and Crayola products valued at $1,000. Proposals must be submitted by principals who are members of NAESP currently and intend on renewing membership for the 2014– 2015 school year. The schools must be located in either United States or Canada. Schools that received this grant in 2013 will not be eligible to apply for a 2014–2015 grant. Instead we urge you to become a judge and help us score new proposals. Schools that won grants in 2010- 2012 may apply in 2014. ChaMpions for heaLthy kids Promoting healthy nutrition and fitness for America's youth, Champions for Healthy Kids has helped more than 1 million kids since its inception in 2002. Launched in partnership with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation and the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, this has become a flagship program of the General Mills Foundation, distributing more than $5 million in grants to nonprofit organizations. Through the Champions for Healthy Kids program, the General Mills Foundation will award 50 grants to nonprofit organizations working to improve nutrition and physical fitness behaviors for youth. The program's alumni have inspired success in the classroom and impacted countless numbers of students. Each year, 100 educators are selected to receive $2,000 to help fund their innovative class projects. Three of those are chosen to receive the top awards of an additional $5,000, $10,000 and $25,000. ING Unsung Heroes Awards Program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America. Scholarship Management Services is the nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals.
