Tricky Question Advice One thing we hear a lot here at BevForce when we're helping folks prepare for an interview is: "How do I answer the question: 'Why do you want to leave your current company?'" Whether or not your interviewer realizes it, he or she is actually asking, "Why do you want to leave where you are right now to come join me?"  When you get asked this question, you want to be truthful about why you want to leave, but also keep it positive and brief (and remember: never badmouth your current employer). Afterwards, turn the focus of the conversation towards why you want to join this new company and provide detailed reasons. This keeps the discussion positive and allows you to highlight why you are a fit for the role and how you can be an asset to their team!
