people KRISTIN MCCALL Newbury, UK’s Quantel has appointed Kristin McCall broadcast product specialist for the com- pany’s North American operations. McCall will be responsible for presenting Quantel’s Enterprise sQ broadcast solutions, with an emphasis on sports, 3D and news applications. She comes to the company from Quantel customer ESPN, where she was a senior editor and part of its cre- ative development program. In addition to her editing skills, McCall is also an experienced broad- cast motion graphics designer. MCCALL CHRISTOS MOUNTZOUROS Full-service design, animation, visual effects and color grading studio Nice Shoes in NYC has signed senior producer Christos Mountzouros to its roster. Mountzouros previously represented talent in design, animation, interactive and non-tra- ditional media.He worked in motion graphics as a producer at Digital Kitchen, focusing on commer- cials and network packages. Mountzouros began his career in children’s programming at Curious. His credits include work on the re-brand for HLN, a spot for MTV2, and a TV and Web project for Levi’s/The Logo Network that was part of the “Unbuttoned” campaign. MOUNTZOUROS NATHAN BOLDMAN LAUREN MAYER-BEUG Santa Monica-based special effects boutique Ar- senal FX has added designers/directors Nathan Boldman and Lauren Mayer-Beug, whose work includes projects for HP, Red Bull, the 2010 Winter Olympics, Fox Sports and the 24 open. The pair recently completed projects for Taxicab Confessions, Money Grabbers and MasterCard, along with numerous music videos. Prior to joining Arsenal FX, Boldman and MAYER-BEUG, BOLDMAN Mayer-Beug were partners in motion graphics house De Motu. Boldman has worked with Eight VFX, Public, Sway Studio and Spot Welders. Mayer-Beug has worked at Digital Domain, Zoic, Sway Studio, Sea Level and Spot Welders. ROBERT MEAD FeedTheWalrus in NYC has signed offline edi- tor Robert Mead, who specializes in editing commercials, music videos and films, and also brings a strong graphics background to the studio. JEFF LEVINE, JENN JOHNSON Bicoastal Tool of North America has hired creative and design pro Jeff Levine to the newly- created position of interactive design director. Levine spent from 2006 to 2010 running Fake-Up, a full-service interactive studio. Prior to that he freelance art directed for studios and agencies around the world. He has already collaborated with several Tool directors on campaigns for Adidas, Mountain Dew, Dodge Ram, Usher and iPad. Tool has also strengthened its sales staff with the signing of Jenn Johnson. She will cover the East Coast,working with Tool’s East Coast head of sales Meredith Bergman Apicella. Previously, John- son worked in the sales division for New York’s Click 3X and its interactive studio ClickFire Media. FRANKIE JACOBS, CLARE MANNING Frankie Jacobs has joined London’s Air Post Production as head of post. She comes to the studio from The Mews in the West End and will be responsible for looking for new growth opportu- nities. Jacobs brings experience as a senior post producer who specialized in graphics, design and effects compositing. Air also brought on Clare Manning, who joined the company from Unit. She serves as post production manager. Air’s new Shoreditch facility is home to more than 20 suites featuring a mixture of Avid and Final Cut workstations. JEREMY TURNER Bigfoote Music + Sound in NYC has signed orchestra, TV and cinema composer Jeremy Turner to its team.Turner is in his 14th season in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, where he serves as assistant principal cello, and has played a season with the Auckland Philharmonic in New Zealand. His recent work includes Geico Wabbits, and Google’s Parisian Love. SUSAN BENNETT NYC-based production studio Collective has added Susan Bennett for West Coast represen- tation.
